I did that today. Just call the 800 number. There is actually an option for it

It's called a DishPause. $5/month for up to 9 months. I'm not sure but I bet they still ask for the number of months paid for upfront.

i think you can call dish network and the customer service repesentive will put you on a program called dish pause and i think it's for $5 month for up to nine months but be careful if leave your service on dish pause longer it will cause the prices to go up signicifinity if you don't pay attention to your dish bill.

Oh one more very important detail. Dish Ouse forfeits all credits and promotions currently received.
