I'm debating my options. My 24 month commitment just ran out. I have been using my HR21's with only one input since my rooms have one coax. I don't have HD right now because a couple months after I got service we had a tornado and it took the dish so I hooked up an old 3 lnb dish and that's what I have been using. Directv wanted 200 to come out and replace it so I just found an old dish and it has worked great since. I'm wanting to jump on the free hd for life or credits and need to put up a new dish. Do I call retentions and request to get a new dish and swm installed (renewing my contract) or do I buy the dish and the parts to make swm happen (avoiding the contract renewal and get the promo without a committment?) Or switch to dish? Not sure what I should do. I'm not exactly sure how much swm would cost me out of pocket?? worth it?

You would be better off having DirecTV change the dish and install SWM. And while you're at it have Whole House DVR (MRV) installed. You might be able to get a deal from DirecTV if you do it all at once.

I'm not sure, but if you aren't adding a receiver, there might not be any commitment involved.

I will call and see if they lock me in on a new commitment. Thanks for the reply.
