Hi All, I am looking for a sanity check for a tailgating setup I plan to use this fall. I currently have a old Dish 500 with a Dish Pro Plus LNB that was being used to picked 110 and 119. I will be using a Dish VIP 211k receiver. I plan on purchasing a 3 foot tripod PVTP3KIT from Sadoun satellite sales. From the research I have done, I believe I will only need to see the 129 satellite. My Locals from Kansas City are on 129 along with all the regional sports channels and the Big 10 network. It also looks like all the ESPN family of networks is on 129 except for ESPN. Does anyone know if there are plans to move ESPN HD to 120 / 61.5 anytime soon? Is there anything else I need to plan for or any issues with my planned setup. Thanks

Sounds like you did your homework on what sats you will need for the channels you are looking for. It sounds like just 129 will work for your situation. If you really want that 119 for ESPN HD, you can pick up 129/119 with a standard D500. If the elevation is offset a little (amount and direction depends on your location) you can pick up 129/119 with a DPPlus twin on it (as long as you have good LOS for both sats). I have accidentally done this once or twice being lazy using an existing mast that I never checked for plumb, and it was way off. Go inside, check switch |129|119|X| Oops. Good luck. Also keep in mind that although this will work for a 211, you will want to avoid using this setup for any DVR receivers. AFAIK they still get their extended guide info from the 110 sat. (Anyone who knows more about this please add comments)
