I just read that Tegna, is selling to Standard General the 2nd half of 2022 when the Tegna BOD gives the green light. I wonder if there will be any changes? Tegna owns both KING/KONG Seattle as well as KGW/KGWZ Portland.

I’m not really sure what to make of this news.

My mother is a Dish subscriber and until recently has been without her Tenga-owned NBC affiliate due to a carriage dispute. It had been ongoing since October and resolved just before the Olympics aired.

I am not sure that there is anything you can make of it. Maybe the hedge fund or the management it puts in place will be eaier to deal with and maybe not. In any event the deal is signed and we do not even know how long it lasts.

Tegna has been known to be the worst in the industry to deal with on contract renewals. We learned that with the Tegna stations gone for months. The new company may be easier. Being an investment group, it may be sold in the near future. Owners seem to come and go. Time will tell.
