Text on 508 looks funny (with picture now)

The text on my 508 seems to look abnormal lately. In the banner it seems to leak or blur a little. And in the recorded programs the letters sometimes are missing a few dots or have an extra dot to the side. I don't think it was like this before but maybe I just didn't notice it.

I am wondering if a certain type of interference would cause this to happen. It would be more visible on the bigger screened televisions.

I noticed my 721 would not display all of the information in the program banner that shows up at the top of the screen each time you change the channel.

Yes, I have. My tv is only 27" so I doubt it's just because of the TV. I just want to make sure it's not an overheating problem. How safe are these chips in high temps? I've seen the main cpu chip at 140F with a heat gun I have.

Does the problem only show up after the box has been on for awhile?

Grab a fan and point it at the box - it'll stay plenty cool. See if the problem goes away.

Try connecting a different television to the receiver to see if you see the same result.
