A surprising movie: "The Blind Side". I expected another regular sports movie (how a dumb jock made good and the NFL), but what I got was a story on generosity and truly good people following the golden rule. The best part of it was it really happened (or at least as close as movies can come to reality).

So, okay it wasn't the best acted movie, and at times it was a little on the sappy side, but this movie struck me on an emotional level like no other movie has for over two decades.

This is not a sports movie. This is a movie about the human condition.

Anyway, I recommend this movie.

I like this movie as well. Sandra Bullock did win an Oscar for Best Actress for this film...

She wasn't the one I was commenting about poor acting. The football HS coach and all the cameos by the college coaches were awful acting, but fun anyway.

Welcome to last year. :D :D :D

I agree with you, though.....awesome movie.

Yup me wife and I saw this movie at CES earlier in the year and it touched us as well.

Good movie. Some would call it a chickk flick, but I don't think it was at all.

Another surprising movie for a jock fan is "October Sky" Check it out for the surprise, also a true story

Brought it up because, 1) it was the first time I saw the movie and 2) it debuted on HBO Saturday so this will be the first opportunity many people will have to watch the movie. But thanks for playing anyway.

In "October Sky" the jock tie in was in high school you had to play football and when you graduated you worked in the coal mines. That was the life in W. Va
The Rocket Boys broke out
