Debra Messing ("Will & Grace") stars as Laura Diamond, a brilliant NYPD homicide detective who balances her "Columbo" day job with a crazy family life that includes two unruly twin boys and a soon-to-be ex-husband (Josh Lucas) - also a cop - who just can't seem to sign the divorce papers. Between cleaning up after her boys and cleaning up the streets, she'd be the first to admit she has her "hot mess" moments in this hilariously authentic look at what it really means to be a "working mom" today. Somehow she makes it all work with the help of her sexy and understanding partner, and things get even more complicated when her husband ironically becomes her boss at the precinct. For Laura, every day is a high-wire balancing act.

NBC will give a Mysteries of Larua preview after America´s Got Talent Grand Finale, on September 17.

NBC wants to make sure “The Mysteries of Laura” isn’t a mystery to potential viewers, slotting a special sneak preview episode behind its biggest summer show.

“Laura,” which stars Debra Messing as an NYPD homicide detective who balances her day job with a crazy family life, will now first air at 10 p.m. Sept. 17 — one week earlier than planned — following the season finale of top-rated summer series “America’s Got Talent,” the network announced Wednesday.

It will then make its regular-timeslot premiere at 8 p.m. the following week, on Sept. 24.

Looking forward to meet this Laura, watched a bit of the original Spanish series, but didn´t watch more than three minutes.

Strong ratings for the pilot of Laura, It was number one on its time slot, maybe thanks to AGT´s boost. It had about twice the numbers than Extant did in the same time slot.
Let´s see if it can stay like that in the next weeks.

Considering it was competing against summer shows not hard to win the ratings. The test will be of course the next few weeks when the full Fall lineup returns.

I want to see what happens with this show. Last fall NBC aired Ironside on this Wednesday time slot, only to see a prompt cancellation.

Watched last episode, not that bad, but not good either IMO. I think it will be normal now if the show has a short life.
