In sub numbers, that is. See the article. They're trying to "refocus" their business.

They are ripping TIVO apart over this article at tivocommunity. Refocus on web delivered content when the box is in the stone ages compared to Roku and Boxee and which still has a $20 monthly fee, a front end cost, and a commitment?

The box is definitely better than the stupid cableco DVRs it replaced, but not up to a 722. However, they don't know how to sell it, and apparently they aren't even trying.

I agree. I think their business plan is to win big bucks from Echostar/Dish and maybe others, while not losing against Microsoft & others. Then, win or lose, sell their s/w & patents and fold their tent. I wonder what will happen to all those TiVos if TiVo goes away and nobody else sees a successful business plan in selling EPG data for a monthly fee. I think we can see that business plan was a loser.
