I recently purchased an RV that has a TracVision L3 system which was previously used with DirecTV. I made several changes to the configuration already in an effort to get it to work with my old receiver. I was never able to get it to work however. I have just recently gotten a new receiver, it is a 322. In previous attempts the dish would continually search for the satellite but would never find it.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I have not been able to find much information on the topic. Thanks in advance.

No, not knowing anything about it I didn't want to just assume that could be a problem. Where would be a good place to purchase a new one and are there different brands or is there just a particular one necessary to work with the North American satellites.

Thanks,
Brian

This type of antenna is not compatible with any of dish network's dual tuner receivers (such as your 322). With a significant amount of trouble and frequent errors, you may be able to get the 322 to at least work for 1 TV, but you really need to find an older single tuner receiver to get it working properly. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Dishnetwork took my old receiver when they upgraded my system. I am not sure what receiver it was actually but I could not get it to work with that receiver either. This Saturday they are bringing me out a new 311 receiver. Do you think I might be able to get it to work with the 311?

Thanks,
Brian

Yes. But there are many different kinds of LNBs. Not sure which is on your unit, or if it's compatible.

Today I got a new receiver and along with the techs from DishNetwork tried again to get it to work. We connected the new receiver which is a 381, then I connected my laptop to the data port so that I could make sure it was pointing at the correct satellite and that there weren't any obvious problems.

In watching the startup sequence, it appeared that everything was working properly. It has echo_119 as the primary satellite with echo_110 as the secondary and is using the default setups for them preloaded in the tracvision system. I am assuming the settings for these satellites haven't changed since it was programmed in 2002.

Anyways, what happened was that the dish just continually searched for the primary satellite. It went on and on showing different coorodinates that it was searching. I took the top off and watched as it spun and moved up and down trying to locate the satellite. I allowed it to do this several times for as much as 20 minutes.

Not really sure what to try next, any suggestions would really help.

Thanks,
Brian

I think you really need to identify what LNB is mounted in that dish.
