Transponder lock

I have dish network connection. when I check the signal, it shows transponder 18 by default. when I change the transponder numbers one by one, I get the maximum signal strength in transponder 10. But i dont know how to lock that transponer. when I canel the screen and come back to check signal ( 6-1-1) it again shows transponder 18.
can anyone help me in locking the transponer in a dish network system.

You are getting transponder 18 because the channel you are watching in on transponder 18. You do not choose what transponder to watch, thast is determaned by the channel you choose.
