My family and I are going to Memphis for Easter break. My wife and I went a few years ago for my brother's birthday, he is a huge Elvis fan. We are planning on Graceland and the Civil Rights Museum, but if anyone has any other ideas for fun we will listen to them all. My kids are 14 and 13.

Memphis is also known for their BBQ.

Check the "What's Cooking" Forum, there was a recent topic on various recommended Memphis BBQ joints. May be worth taking the fam to experience some true Memphis BBQ.

That was me who posted the Memphis BBQ thread. I was just interested to see if anyone has any activities that don't involve eating. Got to watch the waistline. Thanks.

There's a cluster of casinos down in Tunica, MS (maybe 35 miles South on Hwy 61) if you're interested in that stuff. But I doubt that they're kid friendly.

We are staying at a hotel on the next block over from Beale Street, it is actually in a mall called Peabody Place.

There is a Hotel there where every morning they March ducks to go sit in the fountain inside the hotel.

Its kind of funny the ducks actually walk off an elevator and in a straight line to the fountain. I can't remember the hotel name though. :(

Also make sure you get a carridge ride around downtown. Some really amazing views there.

The Peabody. We have one here in Little Rock as well. It's funny to watch.

When we went last year we saw the ducks at the Peabody. We will take the kids to see that. We will check out the carriage ride. I think there are riverboat rides to come to think of it.
