UConn basketball program puts itself on probation...

ESPN shills for the Big East and this will be no different. I love how Boeheim gets gushed over on PTI and other ESPN shows. Three time NCAA major violators. This will be no different.

We'll see when the NCAA releases their findings, probably later this week. There has been some speculation that Calhoun may retire if the penalties are severe.

It wouldn't shock me if he did retire...

It would shock me TREMENDOUSLY if this came down as severe, UConn's already done a fair amount of cleanup here (fired both assistants involved, the scholly reduction, etc). I don't think the NCAA tacks on much, if anything.

And, before someone comments that I'm a homer - keep in mind that Nate Miles (the recruit mostly in question) never played at UConn for a second.

While that is true, Miles did attend the school though. Miles was expelled before the hoops season started:

Freshman basketball player Nate Miles was expelled from the University of Connecticut today following an administrative hearing investigating allegations that he abused a female student, according to Sean Patterson, a former youth coach who later became his legal guardian.

Miles, 20, of Toledo, Ohio, was accused by the alleged victim of becoming physical and trying to pressure her into having sex. A restraining order was issued Sept. 22 and Miles was arrested for placing a call to the woman, a 19-year-old from Manchester, 16 minutes after the order was issued.
