Unexpected Channel Change

Hmm, the 612s we had here, two of them, would change the tuner channel while watching a recorded program WHILE a timer started another recording. We were complaining about that to DISH and they sent a replacement. Acted the same so they sent a tech who replaced it with the 722k. If they could have told us that the view tuner would not buffer while watching a recorded program there would have been no reason to replace them and we would still have the 612. Single mode is all we want anyway.
The old 721 would only buffer 30 min but at least the channel would be the same and buffered.

The 722 gives you some control over tuners with the swap button. Prior to watching a recorded show, press the swap button to park your favorite channel on the "other" tuner. After going back to live TV, press the swap button to return to your parked channel and it will still have one hour of buffered content.

Also, the 722 (in single mode) gives you PIP functions, press position when not in PIP and you get side by side, press again to cancel or swap to reverse.

Good thought.... we did that for a while but then we had to keep up with clean up.
May do that again since there seems to be no other way.

How about setting a manual timer for that favorite channel to record each day and putting maximum amout of recordings at 1 or 2? Then you wouldn't have to bother with the cleanup, the system will do it for you.

Also watch your favorite channel on both tuners, using the swap button, then when your timer fires up it wouldn't matter which tuner it fired up on because the other tuner would still be on your favorite channel.

Do that too!

Dish's DuoDVRs are a lot of fun in single mode.:p
