While watching the Olympic Trials over the weekend, there was mention of the brand new station (in HD no less!) that NBCUniversal was offering. It was something like UniversalHD Sports. Right now it was to have replays of the different Olympic Trials events and I'm guessing that oince the Olympics come around that it would be another source for the games!.

Has anyone heard anything about this addition to DISH?

Methinks it was a mispeak, referring to Universal HD...

Source.

Media Week has an article from last Monday about a joint venture between NBC-Uni and World Championship Sports Network (WCSN) to form Universal Sports.

For some reason, I can't seem to copy the whole link, so finding the story will be left to the student as an exercise.

My bad, so it looks more like VOD, IPTV and syndicated sports show; than a conventional network (at least what I can tell from their website)

WCSN - The Home of World Champions

Whoops, should have read down further... wonder if NBCU strong armed a carriage agreement for that channel? I mean there was a lot of talk about dedicated olypmic channels during the charlie chat....

Anybody else notice that their DVRs are full of short form Olympic related VOD? A lot of it is old swim matches. Must be related to this...

WCSN was as subchannel on our ABC in Buffalo and this weekend it started to show the waterprint for Universal Sports.
