universal remote issue

I have an rca universal remote trying to control an envision tv. Just got these used. My problem is no matter how many times I've programmed it it doesn't activate all the functions that it should, like the dash between the numbers, or info on the current program. I've tried entering all the envision codes listed as well as doing it blind, with the same results. Any ideas?
