Sports Business Daily reports that the Universal Sports TV channel is shutting down next month after nearly a decade in operation. The channel, which is majority owned by InterMedia Partners, notified distributors that its signal would be taken down November 16.

In 2015, Universal Sports broadcasted many significant cycling events, including the Tour Down Under, La Course by Le Tour de France, the Vuelta a España, and the UCI world championships of cyclocross, track, mountain biking, and road racing.

NBC, which holds a minority stake in the channel, will pick up the channel's portfolio of Olympic sports rights. It is unclear how NBC will use those rights on its existing channels, like NBCSN.
