Unusually high (and misleading) indicators of "S" and "Q" on some transponders

Some time ago I tried to get programs using undersized (for FTA) dishes like Bell 18" and Bell 20" just to learn if small dish can still be utilized.
Programs from Hispasat 30 W typically showed "Q" just above 40% and slightly turning the dish sideways allowed watchable program when "Q" was around 38%.
However, one program, Parole Da Vita, displayed "Q" around 60% ! But, even slighest movement of dish caused complete lack of reception.
Similar situation happened a few days ago with 97 W and some programs like TV TRWAM.
Is it fault of my testing mini-sat receiver, V8, or there is another explanation?

I would think it would all depend on the FEC the transponder is using.

The only thing similar that I have experienced with my Edision Mio+ is occasionally I find a transponder that reads perhaps 63 or 65 dB SQ. Obviously, this is a false reading but I've never understood why. Maybe it's the SR being too high but the Edision is supposed to support up to 60,000. These types of signals never scan in.

I notice in my case there were about 40 multistream tps on 95W last night at one point. I suspect the receiver is being confused by all these signals resulting in the erroneous SQ reading. So this has nothing to do with the thread subject.
