I`m upgrading from my old HR20 to the HR24. I`ve had conflicting information on if I will need to use the two external modules on the Sat in connections.
One dealer asked something about SWM. I don`t have a clue as to what that is. I have a SlimLine 3 lnb dish, if that`s any help.
Thank you

are you talking about b band converters? If so Yes, i believe they are required, as I have both a HR20 and HR24 and both have them.

I`m not sure what they`re called but they have a connector which the lead from the dish plugs into and on the opposite end a lead which plugs into the HR20.

Yes they are connected as described in your post. One dealer told me that they are not needed with the HR24 while another said they were required.

With the regular setup you need them with all models except the 23 series. If you are using a swm setup, then you don't need them at all. The swm setup uses one cable only.
