Come on Dish! WPMI-HD in Mobile before the Olympics are over, please!

BTW, congrats to those of you in South Carolina.

WOO HOO! Locals in HD & I now get NBC just in time for the olympics! :D It's a great day in SC! Just curious - is anyone still having luck getting the 61.5 sat added for free?

I've about given up on WPMI here, Pepper.. Must be some real tough negotiations.
Yup, I sent another scathing email to the general manager and the corporate parent, Newport TV. Got a reply from the chief engineer saying there's nothing they can do, nothing from Newport.

Figures, WPMI is the one OTA station I have trouble with.

Dish and Newport apparently don't see eye to eye on things. The 2 Newport owned stations in Memphis aren't in HD either, one of them being the local ABC station.

skyview and rgerst, when you view WPMI-HD OTA, is it crystal clear all the time with no dropouts ever?

I get consistently around 85 on the ViP622 signal meter for that one, and it looks good most of the time but there is also consistently several dropouts per hour, usually just a quick pixelization and/or audio drop. I am wondering if I need a better antenna, or if they need to correct some problems at the station.

I get a pretty good signal over my antenna. But then I am a lot closer to the tower than you are. However my signal varies from mid 80's to low 90's. I get little dropouts every now and then with pixelation and audio droput which is amplified when it's a DVR'rd program.. I just have an amplified batwing in the attic which does pretty good. No real complaints about the WPMI picture.. I just want it on satellite so when multiple programs come on at the same time, I don't have to use the OTA for WPMI. My wife watches mostly WKRG and I would rather dedicate the OTA for that channel, cause I would be murdered in my sleep if one of her shows didn't get recorded due to a weather outage.
