My wife wants our local channels from our local cable company, they offer them for like 10 bucks. My question is can I use the port in the back for that or will have to just use one from the tv. And if I can use the port on the back can I use the dvr on it.

622/722 does not have QAM cable tuners. You will have to go to TV. Can you get your locals OTA with an antenna? Then you would have DVR function. To have them in your program guide, you would need to subscribe to SD locals, included with DVR Advantage, as well as one DVR fee. Otherwise, $5.00 per month.

The other way to say it is that the anteena input on the back of a 622 or 722 is for digital OTA only. It cannot receive aanlog OTA,analog cable or digital cable.
