We just came from Comcast/TimeWarner cable. The wife really misses the freee video on demand feature for things like HBO, etc...That's how she would keep up to date on all her series and is one of the things she misses about cable, besides their easy to use DVR.

Will Dish Network ever bring this feature to their service? The only 'on demand' I have found so far is just for paying to rent movies from Dish.

It was supposed to be coming in August, however now if it makes it in August it will be late August.

Stay tuned!

I wonder what other HD Channels we will see in late September.

Video-On-Demand in cable company terms means something entirely different in satellite provider terms. Do NOT hold your breathe waiting for this from Dish (or DirecTV).

SCOTT, I thought I read that DISH ON-LINE was not coming on line this August due to a glitch? I read that somewhere on this site.

Hmmm.. Dish Video on Demand on a Wildblue Unit.. I see a serious crash with the FAP on that one..

Yeppers Dish VOD on any Sat internet service and you are going to get hit with FAP after watching for about an hour, or two (depending on the sat internet service level and also depending if the DishOnline VOD will use mpeg2 or mpeg4)

I would think that they are going to use mpeg4, but only dish know for sure right now which they will use.
