VIP 222 dropping picture and sound

I had a customer today with a 222 that kept dropping sound. The video would continue to play, but no audio. If you reset the box, sometimes you would have the same problem again, other times you would keep the audio, but lose video. It was connected to the TV with the RGB cables for video and RCAs for audio. Didn't have an HDMI cable, so I coudln't try that. This was on HD and SD channels. Signal strength is normal across the board. Cable is new, ground block is new, electrical outlet tested ok, new dish 1000.2 triple. Anybody know anything? Seems like a software issue to me. :confused:


update: Spoke with advanced tech support at DISH who informed me that this is not a software issue, but rather a hardware issue in certain revisions of the 222. He would not tell me which revisions were affected. He only said to have the customer call in if the problem persists, and they would ship him a new 222. Scott, can you add to this?
