Vip 222k External HD

So I have a vip722 and a vip 222k. I currently have a EHD hooked up to the 722 and it works great. Now can I hook up the EHD to the 222k? Does it even have the ability yet? Thanks

Why would the 222k have the ability to hook up a ehd? Since it is not a dvr how would you ever view movies on a ehd through the 222k if you had to reformat it everytime?

Yes, for the 411/211/211k. But as P.Smith said above, it's not yet available for the 222/222k.

I'd be willing to bet that it won't happen soon. The dual tuner 222 would make it too competitve with their DVRs. The 211 with an EHD is hamstrung by having only one satellite tuner. It's nice to have the buffer feature and to be able to record when you're not around, or not watching anything else, but that's about it. For a primary family TV a dual tuner DVR is a better solution.

As buggy as the 222 is now, would you want to add an EHD to it? Not me, I am happy when mine works right for more than a 48 hr period.
