I'm planning on signing up for DISH and having them send me an ViP 612.

My TV doesn't have HDMI, it only supports Component (RGB) and DVI. Can I buy a convert to convert my DVI to HDMI, Will it work?

If not, will Component give me 1080i?

Thanks for allowing me to sign up and post right away.

If you use a HDMI-DVI adapter, you will have to run audio cables also, since DVI doesn't support digital audio.

HDMI-DVI adapter is how i'm using my ViP612, and it works fine.

I'm in the same boat with my tv. I use the DVI port for my HD DVD player and Component for Dish. The component picture looks just as good as the DVI IMO.
