I recently signed up a friend on the 622 receiver. When it was first installed, all seemed to work fine. Approximately a week after installation, the sound quit on TV2. Still had good picture. TV is connected with coaxial cable. Hooked up DVD player to TV and checked out fine. Reset receiver and still same. Receiver works fine on TV1, also connected with a Coaxial cable.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Has your friend tried a soft reboot (holding down the power button on the receiver for several seconds)? A soft reboot will be your friends best friends until they stabilize the 622 firmware. Oh, always try a soft reboot first...then hard reboot...followed by drop kick into outer space (if you can afford it).

We have tried both the power button and power cord reboot. It usually works for a day or so and then reverts back to the same problem. He usually doesn't loose all the channels--just most of them. This has happened several times. The receiver works well (although sluggish) when it is working. Cannot establish a relationship to a certain satellite location.

By the way, riffjim, the drop kick is the next choice of action.

IF you can't get all of the satellites it needs to make it work either :110/119/129 or 110/119/61.5 ,then that is part of your problem. It sounds like the install was done wrong. Call the dish tech department and see what they say. They might need to come back out and take a look at your install and repoint the dish etc.
