Vip211 audio-video "synchronization" problem

  • Server Issues.

We are very aware that there have been system issues the past few days. In troubleshooting the system, it has been determined that the issue is at our provider and is hardware related. As of 12:05 PM ET our provider has moved us to a new server.

Things seem to be running better on this new server. However in trying to diagnose the issue (before finding out it was a hardware issue) we made some system changes which we need to undo. So if you find any issues or errors please let us know in the Operations Center Forum.

Thank you for your patience! Sorry for the issue!

I have a new Dish installation of a ViP211 Receiver connected to a new Phillips plasma HD TV (model 42PF9431D/37). The video is connected through component video cables and the audio through L / R cables from the Satellite receiver to the TV.

My problem is that the audio and the video are not "synchronized" in that the audio is not in sync. with the lips of the actors. As a result it looks like a dubbed movie. The problem is present in all channels but appears to be more noticeable in SD channels than HD channels. I have spoken innumerable times to Dish tech support and have tried resetting the receiver by powering down and even had the receiver replaced with another 211 receiver but nothing helps. The Dish technicians say that this is a "known" software issue but have no idea as to when it will be fixed. Does anyone else have this problem and are there any ideas on how to solve it?
