I have a VIP211k that I have connected to the internet. What exactly do I gain by having this connected to the internet? There is no way for me to set my DVR recordings through the internet, and I don't think I am streaming anything through it. And don't all software updates come from the satellite? Just trying to figure out why I have this connected - it just seems to be an extra cable running along the floor.

I don't think I can stream anything - unless I am completely oblivious to a feature I didn't know I had.

By having the 211 connected to the Internet, you can order PPV and VOD using the remote instead of having to order online or through a phone agent.

I apologize, PPV only unless you have an external hard drive connected.

I have my 211k's connected to the Internet and external hard drives ... no video-on-demand for me, but I have them off my phone line. Dish Interactive seems to run faster, at least when I pay my bill through the set-top box.

Why can't Dish Anywhere Plug Ins JUST WORK?!?!
