yes, any DishPro (DP) or ViP (ViP) receiver will work with legacy equipment. You will need one line from the switch for each tuner. The ViP612 has two tuners so you need two lines into the room.

Thanks... you guys have been a big help...
I currently have 6 cables coming in the house, 2 from 119, 2 from 110 and 2 from 61.5 into a sw64 which is inside the house... I would like to use 4 receivers. What setup (switches and dish ) would you recommend? Again many thanks

The current setup is good for 4 tuners. If you're upgrading to dual-tuner receivers that put you over that count, you will need to either
  • add a 2nd SW64 parallel to the first using splitters and feed loads (messy)
  • convert to DishPro Plus with DP LNBs and DPP44 switch
  • add another dish setup for the new receiver (or the old ones that don't need 61.5°)
