I'm new to the forum. I am trying to connet up my vip612 receiver through a linsys wrt54gs router with dd-wrt v24 sp1 firmware in client bridge mode. My laptop connects, but my vip612 can't establish an internet connection. Help

I had this same issue with my VIP 722. Do you have the DD-WRT software on the client router and the primary router? I installed DD-WRT v24 on the primary router and then it started working just fine with the 722. I also found that using bridge repeater mode seemed to work with fewer problems.

At the time DD-WRT v24 was only a few days out so there was very little info about how to set it up. Double check your DHCP settings and then reset the connection on the receiver.

No dd-wrt on primary router. It's an old netgear I don't think I can flash but will check it out.

Tnx

If its an old router you may just want to get another. I have the new Lynksis WRT310N that is flat and black, looks like something off Star Trek. I am getting a long enough cord and hooking the 612 to it this week and let you know if it works. I have a PS3 connected to that router via wire no problem. I was having lots of problems with a couple year old Belkin router and didn't have them with the new router. I find my routers only last 2-3 years and they start to have problems. On my 622 that is too far away I am using an older Lynksis game router, a solution for those with DVRs all over the house.

By changing my AP to a Buffalo wifi router with dd-wrt firmware flashed vip612 now is hooked by wifi. Cleint Bridge mode does the job in my Linksys router.

Thanks for the tips.
