VIP622 Started Freezing

After several years, my vip622 has started freezing. I haven't noticed any signal drops, but when we watch recorded stuff or try to rewind, it freezes quite often now. So...I went to System Info, and it is now indicating LNB Drift on 129. It is at a -7 level. Can this cause the system to freeze frequently?

Sounds like the hard drive is starting to go south. Drift would not cause it. Call Dish Tech support.

I lived with -7 drift for two years before I got a new dish. Nothing to worry about.

Do you have the protection plan? If not get it, and schedule a service call.

Its the hard drive. If you do a "Long" diagnostic it will show a read error on the hard drive. You can buy a Seagate drive for around $45 and it will turn your 622 into a 722 (storage wise anyway).

Be careful with such broad advise ! Only one model of Seagate disks is approved.

Right. I should have given the model number. It MUST be a ST3500830SCE.
