I recently switched from DirecTV to Voom. All is great except for
not being able to find the local CBS affiliate .
All the other networks come in crystal clear (ABC, NBC, FOX and even
WB). And then I went to voom.com and looked up the listings for my
area I did not see anything for CBS. ( I know that channel 7 out of
Fort Myers Florida is CBS)and all of my other locals comes out of Ft
Myers.
Anyone have any ideas about this?
I am in panic mode ( want to have this resolved before Sunday's
Patriots game LOL)
Thanks in advance
Bruce

Press Voom button on remote, press green button, press green button again, go to installer menu, press OK, go to installation wizard, press OK, go to aim off-air antenna, press OK. Input RF number for the digital CBS station (it won't be 7) and see what the signal strength is. If it's below 80, the STB will not lock on it. If your getting any signal strength rotate the antenna towards the direction of the tower. Go to www.antennaweb.org(i think that's right) to find out location of the tower in relation to your address.
Good Luck!

I just looked up Ft. Myers, with zip code 33901, and the CBS station is awaiting their FCC permit. If that is the case, then they are not broadcasting digital. Your Voom STB only receives digital broadcasts and not analog.

What does antennaweb.org say for your address? It will give you the RF
number, which is different than the channel number, and you can check
signal strength using the installer menu on the Voom STB.

If the channel is not in Voom's map for your area, you may be able to find
it via a scan on the Voom STB. Or split the OTA cable and run one into the
Voom STB and one into the TV's antenna input, assuming the TV has a built
in ATSC tunner.... (Note that if you split it you probably need to do so
after the diplexor since the Voom STB is probably sending power to the
OTA..... There are some diagrams of this on satguys I think.)

Thanks for all your help
I did not know that the OTA antenna only picks up a digital signal
And I did see that that the CBS station in Ft Myers was still
trying to get FCC approval.

Guess I'll have to watch the big game on the little television .
(the one I watched Hurricane Charley on after we lost power, a
whopping 2.5 inch screen LOL)

You can still use the OTA for the analog -- you just need to split it
before it gets back to the VOOM STB and run it into the TV's antenna input.
The TV will have an NTSC tuner I would think so there should be no
problems. This does mean you need to watch analog on a different TV
inputt than all the other channels...

Yep, the OTA antenna picks up all signals at the frequency it is tuned to.
The VOOM receiver is an ATSC only receiver so it only picks up digital
channels. The TV tuner in your TV has the ability to pick up NTSC analog
channels so a splitter to each receiver will solve the problem.
