[VOOM] New VOOM Subscriber

I got my VOOM this morning!

I ordered it last week having only heard whispers about it here and
there. Then, after ordering it, I found this forum and became
nervous and anxious about the problems being reported. My
experience thus far has been excellent.

The installers arrived on time, were very professional and clean,
and went out of their way to make me happy. I ordered 2 receivers
under the lease program. According to the installers, one was a new
version, and one was older. There are some minor differences in OS
of the system. For example, on one I can autosearch for OTA
channels, but on the older I cannot (but they are showing up).
Shouldn't the receivers be running the same revision? My local ABC,
CBS, and NBS look awesome from the OTA antenna. Very happy.

So what's everyone griping about? I'd say that so far everything is
good! Goodbye BrightHouse and Hello VOOM. The video AND the audio
are soooo much better than with cable.

Do not let those that rant get you down. This is a great resource, and there are some very helpful people here.
There are problems to be resolved, but I see progress.

SOme of the rants are old man, and no longer apply the latest firmware is hotness, and VOom is becoming more "educated" with delivering HD all the time. Welcome to Voom.

Don't worry about the software on the boxes either. Just leave the boxes turned off at night (in standby mode) and sooner or later they both should be running the newest software.
