[VOOM] VOOM Losing Ground

With alot of people on here saying how they are dropping VOOM, I am
not surprised at an article that appeared in NY Newsday the other
day about VOOM. Here it is:

As much as I love VOOM and will be severely disappointed if/when it is shut
off, I'm glad I've had it as long as I have. Unlike other customers, I have
had almost zero problems from the get-go. I will probably go into withdrawl
if/when I lose RAVE/Equator and many of the other outstanding channels. The
real unfortunate part is the problems lay on the shoulders of the Voom Mgmt,
not on the programming. They raised the prices at the worst possible time,
removed the free install when they should have extended it out till the end
of year, continue to have billing problems, answering machine drones
answering the phones in customer service not knowing a dang thing going on
and of course the worst, having contractors who have no business doing
installs. . oh and last but not least, empty promises on programming and dvr
release. Add it all up and the net result is not positive.

Loving Voom until I can no longer..

The disturbing part of that is the customers being cut off. There are
clearly some billing issues(I've experienced some) and a good many of these
folks are probably being cut off through no fault of their own. You can't
have problems in running credit/debit card payments for three months and
then expect people to pony up between $180 and $300 in one shot for TV
service. That's not realistic.

It happened to me... $213.13 charge to my credit card right at the end of a
billing cycle. The card has a $300 limit on it and is also used for my toll
tag. *sigh*

I disagree. It's called living in reality. As I said I love Voom. I do NOT
want it to fail!!!! However you cannot in good faith discount the failures
of the Voom Mgmt that have led to a DROP in members instead of an increase.

OK. I understand but it's been a fairly negative comment week for VOOM and C Band, my two favorite sources of HD programming.

I think you read that parargraph wrong. They intend to target those
areas where they CAN get the OTA signals. Again, that's because
people won't pay for just HD content. Here is the actual quote:

"The filing says Jericho-based Voom is considering scaling back its
