Pretty amazing to catch a signal from 20 light years away. Sounds like they are sure it is from voyager. There are a couple of huge satellites in the desert that still track Voyager 1 and 2.

I had a ham living next to me when I was growing up. He erected a tall mast and then strung very long wires to the corners of his property to act as antennas for the frequencies he was using. IIRC he could put out 2kW SSB on those low frequencies. Does that ring a bell? It certainly "rang" our TV's!

I had a friend who had a tower. He did put a filter on it because he was blacking out a whole neighborhood of tv's.
