If I replaced my Hopper 3 with a Wally receiver, that would save the $15 DVR fee a month correct? I asked a Dish rep and he said it would be $7 a month instead of $15--why $7? This is my only receiver.
Just a one time $40 fee for enabling the DVR capability. There is always a DVR fee even with one DVR receiver. You may be thinking of no receiver fee for the first receiver which would be true. However the Wally is not a DVR receiver so there should be no DVR fee or receiver fee. It is a single tuner HD receiver. If you add an external hard drive it can then record and there still would be no DVR fee.
Is the Wally different from the 211K? I don't have a $7 charge on my 211K even with a hard drive. DISH just charges me $19.99 for the Welcome Pack plus taxesThe $15 to $7 difference is the cost of leasing the box. A Hooper is 15, Wally is 7. You can connect an EHD to the Wally and then, yeah, it's $40 to activate DVR functions

$50 to purchase a Wally directly from Dish. It's different in that it uses the Hopper style CUI, 52 remote and has WiFi ability (Using a WiFi adapter) with some of the same apps as a Hopper, but no coax out to connect to a TV like a 211K does. Not sure of the cost, but you can purchase a Wally just like possibly have your 211. I'm guessing $50 or $100 bucks
