Yes, it was campy, to say the least. However, seeing gas prices at 23.9 in 1966 Southern California, sure made me think of my "61" Ford Galaxie.

Could fill it up for $5.00.

I watched also, reminded me of going to the Drive In when I was a kid :D
 
I remember going on a date with the family car and five bucks in my pocket.

Dinner at Steak n Shake; a four of gallons of gas for cruising in the 56 Buick Special and a pack of smokes.
