I tuned to the New Orleans weather fax channel at 17146.4 kHz last week when New Orleans wasn't active, and was surprised to hear a loud and relatively clear signal from Chile. The signal was present several other days as well. It was always in the evening, so I suppose greyline propagation was involved.

Hamburg is fairly pounding in this afternoon on 13880.6. It's usually audible, but not usually this clear.

Just a heads up to anyone who cares, it's looking like a transpacific kind of night! I just received my first-ever fax signal (albeit not very legible) from Australia on 20 meters, and am currently receiving a rare perfectly legible fax signal from Tokyo on 17 meters. Pictures later.
