weird picture

when I am watching a channel that is not being broadcasted in HD I get a wierd sqiggly and square lines at the top of the screen does anyone know what this is?? Customer support is no help. I have a vip722 reciever.

It's the analog closed-caption data. Set your TV to overscan mode instead of dot-for-dot mode.

I tried that but no c/c settings when tv is in HDMI mode. I did find that my vertical picture settings were off......my bad. Glad i figured it out it was driving me crazy!
