Word was that 15 of the remaining 29 markets in the US that cannot get ANY local channels with either dish nor directv was going to launch march 28th with
dish network. Lake charles, la is one of those markets, and still no f---ing local
channels. What is the g--------d hold up? Echostar 14 is launched, and the vote was cast again on march 28th for uplink from different markets. Man, i never thought i'd say this, but i wish i could get cable. Can anybody credible give me a solid update?

There was no promise of anything by that date, Dude. Need to spend more time here, don't you think?

I never saw anything about them having a ton of locals by March 28th.

Echostar 14 was launched but it still has to be tested at 138w. Traffic won't be transferred until the end of May. Then you'll see new markets on it after that.

There's like 5 new HD local markets, and 12 or so new SD markets planned for that.

Thanks. I did read on here somewhere that said the revote was cast on march
28, and was tied into that unemployment benefits package that was denied in
feb by kentucky senator jim bunning. Once that went thru it was supposed to
allow markets to pull other locals from other markets. So, the lake charles market should have local channels on dish by may's end?

The Lake Charles HD locals were uplinked to 77w (in testing) on EA... E14 is going to 119 on the WA. There's only three locals in Lake Charles (PBS, FOX, NBC), which never made it meaningful to provide since the laws held back ABC and CBS. I'm betting those channels are in testing in hopes of this law to pass.

If you're in LKC, do like the other folks do there, "move" or use OTA.

I thought the law was up for revote on march, 28th. It was originally shot down by one senator, but read the he didn't hold it up anymore, and would
let it go for revote. What happened? BTW, I'm not moving for local channels,
and my house antenna doesn't work for sh-t.

"moving" isn't moving

Why not "move" to get them he's not talking about you leaving where you live. Get a better antenna for OTA.
