HERE TO HELP YOU!
I originally had a Dish 1000 dedicated for 129, and replaced with a Dish 500 for better signal... lately I have repeaked the 500 several times but still lose TBS and rarely get my recently added KRQE from LIN... I put the 1000 back up today and just got through peaking it on 129. I am getting 2-3 points lower on the signal strength, but have no problems accessing any of my Mpeg4 HD locals or TBS so now am thinking the LNB is going south on the dish 500 ( a DP Single)and am using same on the 1000 as the DPP was DOA when I took this dish with me Deer hunting... I took down my 148 Dish 300 to put up the 1000, so thinking of moving the 500 to 61.5 ( I have my deactivated 811 outside now with a monitor)

I think it is the LNB, but it's a moot point as I am trying to get 61.5 in with the 500... might have to go to the 300 as it is set (148 and 61.5 same elevation settings here) also hanging out outside so I don't miss the UPS man bringing a Slimline...

I love the slimline, great dish. My May project will prob be adding a 500 for 61.5

Dang, a 1000 for 129. I used a 500 in South Carolina and it worked great, thankfully.

There's probably not much of a gain over a 1000 and 500 for a single point since the dish is designed to pick up multiple birds. A full bore single dish of the same size as the 1000 would be ideal.

I know when I swing my 90cm over to 129 it screams. I actually have higher signal on 129 than some of the TPs on 61.5.

An 18 inch is fine your area... but if you want to maximize on any signal and lessen rain fade, bigger is better. Just depends on how big you want to go.

The 20" 500 was not bad, so i dont see an issue with going 24". Could just wait and let dish do it when they turn on the HD lils :)

If I had an empty mount... or the dogs wouldn't mess with my tripod... I would try this for 129 using a Direct LNB (compatable with Legecy) :D just to try it...
