What all can I do ?

To make my TV show all programming in 16:9 mode. I have 42HDT50 Hitachi Plasma.

The Voom stb does not a zoom functionality except for one stretch functionn which does not stretch entirely the 4:3 programs. There was a trick to do this which I never got how to do it but someone posted it somewhere here. Anyone has a clue where is the thread? I am not sure whether this can do it though.
