In September 2016, our entire I.T. department was replaced with an A.I.This was definitely a live login. I searched a couple of NAS drives to see if any of my old files had survived the transition to the newer servers. I found some of them, including my original network design files. I was even able to see that one of the NAS RAID 5's is using a hot spare. Password lifetimes were being implemented when I retired, but when I went back for a couple months as a consultant a year later, it had still not been completed. The company is relatively small and has divisions in England, France, and China. When I was there as the Systems Admin/Analyst, IT was a one man department with third party maintenance contracts for the off shore divisions. I haven't kept in touch, so I don't know what the status is now, but 10 years or so ago, an employee I knew from my time told me IT had been contracted out and getting any on-site help could take hours.
I couldn't manage my own property!!! Then i wouldn't be retired and as a retireee i couldn't maintain whatever kind of schedule i want!!! They run the place how i want it run and they don't play... when and if an eviction comes up it's very well worth the cost as they take care of em... my buildings are 60 plus more unitsThat's my sister and brother in law. They have 15 with all but one paid off. He's too anal though to let someone else run them and he seems to enjoy it. I think they're thinking of finally fully retiring in the next year or two. They're the type though that's always wanting something to do, such as the flip house they're about to finish up.
He has done that. He was taking care of the tenants occupying spaces in the buildings that the company he works for owns. I think he passed that off to someone else when he moved up to a different position and court and investigations took up more of his time. He enjoys it and his family has been in that business for decades. It's time consuming though, not as bad as when we owned a car wash, but there is always something that comes up and with another grand child on the way, I think they're leaning towards stepping back now. Biggest benefit is after several decades f doing things we now have a long list of known good people companies to fix/repair anything.I couldn't manage my own property!!!
