What customer owned DVR Cable Boxes work Charter Cable

I would like to purchase a DVR Cable box that works with Charter Cable so i don't have to pay rental or lease fees on the charter equipment i have, does anyone know what Boxes work and where i can get them??

I doubt there are any you can purchase that will do that. Even if you get a TIVO, you will need to rent a cable card from them. And pay TIVO a monthly fee.

I do. Just get a cable card tuner and connect it to your PC. They run $100-$300 depending on the number of tuners. The only fee is $2 for the cable card. Works beautifully with Windows Media Center and Xbox extenders.
