Only have one cable coming in. Want to have cable and dish on the same line.

You need one that passed DC power on one side. That is the side the dish needs to be on. You will also need one behind the TV to split the line again back to cable and satellite.

If you have digital cable that must comminicate back to the headend, you will want to get a diaplexer that is rated from 5-850 Mhz for the cable side of the connection. I beleive many generic ones only go from 40 or 50-850 Mhz. It needs the extra range for the return signal.
