Hello in a few months we will be thinking of upgrading to the hopper. I was just wondering what set up to get. We will need 3 rooms to have service in. I was also wondering if dish lets you keep the current receiver if it is one that you can take camping which we are interested in as well

I would recommend the Hopper 3 with 2 Joey 2 receivers.

Keeping an older receiver depends on the model. It has to be a 211 receiver.

No it is a leased one

I'd have to double check but I'm pretty sure that the 211 needs to be purchased in order to keep it on a Hopper account.

Yes it does.
Dish would not allow me to lease a 211z. I had to buy it.

Can I buy the leased one from them or would I have to buy it from some place else

Probably cheaper elsewhere.

But in a few months, all these answers could change.
