Hi Guys
Going to get new lnb for my bud and would like to know what one should I get for the most from my fta receiver??
BSC621-2 (C and Universal KU-band) LNB or the standard one??
BSC621 (C and Standard KU-band) LNB
Thanks

I have the bsc 621-2 and i can say that is not good for ku band and if you put the dilectric inside: is verry poor.
maybe the geosat is better.

Do you -need- Universal LNB on Ku band?
Not a lot of use for it for many of us, but your location may be far enough east to warrant one.

The BSC has gotten a bad reputation in the last couple of years.
Not exactly sure the cause. Works okay on C-band.
Some users can't seem to get it to perform very well on Ku, though.

The SatelliteAV CK-1 is Standard for Ku. They don't offer a Universal model.
Quite a few members have gotten it to perform pretty well on both bands.
When it came time to buy one, that's the one I ordered.

More recently, the DMX-741 has come out. It's offered in Standard and Universal.
There are some early tests being conducted, and the fellows who have them are reporting good results.
You can search the forum for more info (we don't quite have a review, yet).

Thanks guys
It's just that at Lyngsat, some of the free stuff is C band or KU and they brodcast in DVB format, so I thought that DVB is from the KU sats

In addition to the Lyngsat lists, look also here:
- The List, found at the top of each page on this forum. C-band and Ku.
- FTA List, Ku only info. Very simplified list, and you can sort by language.
- Global CM, both C and Ku band lists.

I think most everything on these lists are DVB FTA, unless otherwise noted...

Are you planning to use this dish for analog or DCII (4DTV) on Ku??
If so, you better get the Standard one, because with the Universal version Ku freqs will all be off if you're using an analog or DCII receiver, even if you slave it to a FTA receiver.

I would get the standard one regardless of use. Much easier to work with and the 621 has a 22k switch built in instead of a diseqc switch

I just want to use my bud and pick up whatever is free with my fta receiver. I have a very old manual controller so I can move the dish to any sat. I have an old feed horn with c & ku lnb, but it also has a polarotor motor, (servo), and there are no hook up on my fta for them thats why I was looking at the others.
Thanks to all
