What will EV do when they run out of bandwidth?

With the HD progamming growing, won't EV run out of room sometime soon? Being that Telesat let D* use 72.5, what will EV do?

It is my understanding that N3 only made up for the dead transponders on N2, along with a stronder signal in Canada.

Has anybody heard if they might possibly start using KU? Will there be an EV Superdish?

If they still had the possibility of 72.5, they could simply have their own version of the Dish 1000.

I read, on another thread, that some of the transponders on 129 will eventually be used for Canadian providers. Is that the answer?

There will be no additional satellites slots for Expressvu - ever. Owner Bell Canada Enterprises (BCE) has lost $1.5b cdn on this venture so far.

With the upcoming phone competition to it's core phone business in eastern Canada by the cablecos, BCE has decided that they must invest in the 1 wire solution. It's full circle for BCE. They bought Expressvu years ago after testing the 1 wire solution in test markets in London, Ont and Lachine, Quebec. But technology advances and competition march on. They are already selling the 1 wire solution (sans HD) to high rises and condos in the Toronto area.

They hope to have HD available by year end, but they are buying the STBs from Motorola - so who knows when it will actually work.

As for Expressvu, with proper transponder management, they could hit 50 to 60 HD with their present 2 slots - as long as they don't continue to add porno PPV to eat up bandwidth.
