I am now intregued with VOOM with their new plans. I just went to VOOM.COM to learn about their packages and most of the site said they were updating it.

Can someone give me a list of what channels are included in the basic package?

Thanks!

Once you enter your zip code and choose voom as your provider, it will show you all voom channels for your area, including locals.

At one time it was, but now (as of last week) it is part of the basic package.

Not anymore. It is part of the basic package.

The only Plus Packs are the Movie Packs:

1)Show/TMC
2) Starz/Encore/
3) Cinemax
4) HBO

Any word on when they will be adding TechTV. That would pratically seal the deal for me.

dosborn278,

Welcome! Not yet but stay tune as more additions in the HD and SD arena are expected. How soon? That's the question.

Thanks for the info. I may need to look into this. Keep my 721 and AT60 and locals to record until VOOM gets their dvr

I am now seriously considering VOOM because of their recent changes. Time to talk to my wife tonight. :D

I was also wondering about TechTv. Also there is no locals, superstations, or DVR's. If they had an HD DVR on a lease for $15 then that would REALLY help them out. I cannot see anybody paying much more than that for a lease for one receiver.

I think they should put all of the HD channels in the same numbering lineup instead of scattering them all through the listing.

Also, maybe they will wake up and smell the $$ and offer an HD only package someday.

You can create a favorite list and only include the HD channels. Besides the ALL Channel option, you can also select ONLY HD channels to show up in the program guide.

I understant that Sean, but it makes sense to keep them together like Dish does, it makes it much easier to navigate.

Sean, since you seem to be connected with VOOM, how about picking their brain and asking for an HD only pack? I'd pay half their programming fee for just the HD, I don't want any SD programming, I would not watch it.

Darrellp,

I think in the beginning everyone of us was saying VOOM is an add-on service to E*, D* or Cable or anything else. Given the fact that VOOM is adding more SD channels as well as more HD channels, I do not believe the "add-on service" is in their business plan in the short term. It may be in the long term. Right now, it is about competition and competing heavily against two giants, E* and D*. Their current business plans with the two new offers says a lot but I am not saying that it will not change. Just my opinion.
