Motorola will implement a high-definition MPEG-4 Advanced Video Coding system for HBO as the premium network moves to deliver all 26 of its channels to operators in HD format by mid-2008
Well according to DirecTV - Investor Relations - News Release D* will have 11 of the channels up in HD during September 2007. So HBO must have the necessary hardware in place now to be able to at least do those channels.

Except the news about HBO (see the Sat TV Programming Forum) suggests that they are in the process of switching all of their channels to HD, AND ONLY in Mpeg-4, with no simulcast in mpeg-2.
I suspect they will have a few in HD next month, but definitely not all of their channels.
