My sister wants to get Dish Network to save money, she wants a DVR and 3 extra receivers which means a
Hopper setup. I have 4 wally boxes myself so I am not up on the hopper. As of now which Hopper setup works
the best and less troublesome.

I prefer the HWS because that's what I've had for several years and I don't want to lose my recordings, plus I like the red recording light... and the Snap module improves performance. That said, if I were going for a hopper for the first time, I would get the H3, there would be no rational reason for getting anything else.

Hopper 3, but make sure Dish has the channels you want first.

I think having the channels you need is better than introducing kangaroo technology into tote home.

Hello Timeclock. Depending on what features you are looking for in a receiver we have a few choices that may suit your sisters needs. You can compare receivers, and features here: Overview of DISH Receivers | MyDISH | DISH Customer Support
